Go Handmade Fur Lux – soft faux fur yarn for cosy knitting projects

Fur Lux by Go Handmade is a long-pile faux fur yarn, 100 % polyester, for knitting projects with a fur-like look. According to the manufacturer, it is very soft and thick and works up quickly. The yarn suits cosy items such as scarves, collars or home decorations.

One ball weighs 50 g and has a length of approx. 27 m. The length matters when you plan quantities: because each ball is short, larger items need several balls. It is best to buy them all at once from the same dye lot. Choose your colour from the options.

Knitting with faux fur yarn

With fur yarn, the long fibres make the individual stitches hard to see. The manufacturer therefore recommends counting your stitches as you go. Knit fairly loosely so the fibres have room and the stitches stay visible. On 6–7 mm needles, the knitted piece looks soft and voluminous. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide.

Care

According to the manufacturer, you can machine wash Fur Lux at 40 °C. Do not tumble dry it, as the long fibres will felt more easily.
