The addiCalibro wooden needle gauge set (art. no. 535-2) by addi helps you determine the size of knitting needles and crochet hooks when the printed size has worn off or is missing. The set consists of two pieces: a sock-shaped needle gauge for knitting needles and a ruler-style needle gauge with a cm/inch scale up to 24 cm.

According to addi, the set is intended for classic addi circular knitting needles, for square needles such as addiNovel and for crochet hooks. It is made of birch plywood. Wood is a natural material, so the grain and shade may vary slightly from set to set.

Finding your needle size

Insert the needle into the holes of the needle gauge. The size it fits without play and without sticking is the right one. For circular knitting needles, measure the needle itself, not the cable. Use the 24 cm ruler when you want to check the length of a piece, for example a sock leg.

Which needles does it fit?

For round knitting needles the set covers 1.5–15 mm, and for square knitting needles such as addiNovel 2.0–8.0 mm. Crochet hooks can also be measured with the set. It is therefore useful if you want to sort needles from several sets or from different manufacturers.
