Prym Milliner's Needles No. 5–10 – long and fine for firm fabrics
Prym milliner's needles No. 5–10 (art. no. 124668) are long, fine hand sewing needles for firm fabrics, for example in millinery and costume making. They are longer than ordinary sewing needles. The card contains 16 needles, assorted in sizes No. 5 to 10.
In millinery and costume making, stitches should stay as invisible as possible. A fine, long needle makes this possible. The point is finely ground and the surface evenly coated, so the needle glides smoothly through the material.
Working with milliner's needles
For firm fabrics such as felt, hat bodies or dense costume fabrics, use the needle with a thimble and push it through the material in small, even stitches. Pick up only a few threads of the upper fabric and the stitches will be barely visible. The evenly coated surface helps the needle glide well, even through several layers.
Which number to choose
The higher the number, the finer the needle. Use No. 5 for sturdier fabrics, and No. 9 and 10 for finer areas and particularly discreet stitches. The assortment contains different sizes from No. 5 to 10, so you can switch according to the fabric.
