Prym Sport-Elastic white – braided, sweat-resistant elastic for sportswear

Prym Sport-Elastic (art. no. 910400) is a white braided elastic for sports and fitness clothing. It is 8.5 mm wide, with 5 m wound on the card. The elastic is resistant to sweat and moisture, so it is intended for clothing that is put under heavy strain during training. The zigzag pattern in the elastic shows that it is braided.

According to Prym, the elastic can be washed without problems up to 95 °C. It carries the "tested for harmful substances" textile label and is certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 (product class I). The elastic is made of 72 % polyester and 28 % elastodiene and, according to Prym, has an elasticity of 100 %.

Using the elastic

Braided elastic is rarely sewn in directly. It is usually threaded through a casing, for example in the waistband of sports trousers or shorts. The casing should be slightly wider than the elastic so that it can be pulled through easily. Fasten a safety pin firmly to the end of the elastic and push it through the casing. Hold on to the other end so that it does not disappear into the casing. Finally, sew the ends of the elastic together with a few stitches.
