Prym Flat Elastic 6 mm white – flat elastic that doesn't add bulk

Prym Flat Elastic is a white braided elastic with a zigzag pattern, which you thread through the hems of trousers, skirts or pyjamas. The elastic is particularly flat, so it doesn't add bulk under the fabric. The waistband stays discreet when worn.

The elastic is 6 mm wide and consists of 72% polyester and 28% elastodiene. It is tested for harmful substances and certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. The card holds 3 m.

Threading the elastic

Sew a hem for the casing that is slightly wider than the elastic, so it doesn't twist as you thread it through. Leave a small opening in the seam. Push a safety pin through the end of the elastic and guide it through the casing. Pin the other end to the fabric so it doesn't disappear into the casing. Then overlap the ends of the elastic, sew them firmly together and close the opening.

Washing and care

According to Prym, the elastic withstands a normal wash at up to 95 °C. Chlorine bleach, hot ironing and dry cleaning are not recommended.
