Lang Yarns Merino 120 Dégradé – soft merino gradient yarn

Merino 120 Dégradé from Lang Yarns is a DK yarn made from 100 % virgin wool (merino extrafine, mulesing-free) with a colour gradient. You can knit jumpers, shawls or hats in which the colour changes gradually by itself, with no need to switch yarns by hand. It is the gradient version of Merino 120, the standard DK yarn from Lang Yarns. Choose your colour from the options.

According to Lang Yarns, the strongly crimped fibre structure makes the yarn soft, elastic and good at keeping its shape. Thanks to the superwash finish, it is machine washable, which is handy for garments that are worn often.

What the yarn is suited to

In DK weight, with needles of 3.5–4.5 mm, jumpers, shawls and hats knit up quickly. A gradient yarn shows its effect best in plain stretches or simple textures such as knit and purl stitches, as elaborate patterns can get lost next to the changing shade. Superwash wool keeps its shape after washing, and the merino fibre feels soft against the skin.

Knitting and care

What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure of 22 stitches and 32 rows over 10 × 10 cm is only a guide. With 120 m per 50 g (i.e. approx. 240 m per 100 g), you can work out the yarn requirements yourself from the length stated in your pattern. If possible, buy all the balls for a project together so that the gradient matches up. Wash with a detergent for delicates, without fabric softener.
