Graine Créative Torsade silicone candle mould, twisted taper candle

Torsade silicone candle mould – make your own twisted taper candles

The Torsade silicone mould by Graine Créative is a mould for casting twisted taper candles in wax. The silicone is flexible, so the candle is easy to release. The mould reproduces the spirals of the candle precisely and is reusable.

The silicone is also suitable for plaster and resin. Once you have used a mould for plaster or resin, do not use it for food again.

How to make a Torsade candle

Insert the wick and hold it taut so that it sits centrally in the candle. Heat the wax, colour or scent it as you wish and pour it carefully into the mould. Let the candle cool completely before releasing it from the mould. Then gently stretch the soft silicone and ease the candle out bit by bit so that the spiral stays undamaged. Wax shrinks as it cools: if necessary, top up with a little wax so that the surface at the base is smooth.

Caring for the mould

After releasing the candle, wipe the mould out with a damp cloth. For a more thorough clean, wash it in soapy water.
