Botz liquid glaze 9524 Grüne Allee – deep teal green with cloudy effects

Botz liquid glaze 9524 Grüne Allee colours bisque-fired earthenware in a deep teal green with slightly cloudy effects. The surface is satin and the glaze is opaque. The clouds give bowls, plates and decorative pieces a lively area of colour without you having to combine several glazes.

The glaze is stable in the firing range of 1020–1060 °C and can be fired up to 1100 °C. So you can use it in the usual earthenware range.

Application

Apply the glaze to bisque-fired ceramic that has been fired at 950 °C or higher. Stir it well before use, as the colour particles settle at the bottom. If it is too thick, thin it with a little water as needed. Then brush it on and leave it to dry thoroughly. If the surface is not yet evenly covered, repeat the application. Wipe the base of the piece clean before firing so that it does not stick to the kiln shelf.

Choosing between Grüne Allee and Pinienwald

In the Botz range, 9523 Pinienwald is a medium green with a similarly cloudy look. Grüne Allee is deeper and leans towards teal. Both are satin and opaque. How pronounced the clouds are depends on the thickness of the coat and on the firing. A test tile fired in your own kiln will show you beforehand how the glaze turns out for you.
