Meyco sealing wax with wick – wax seals in dark red and carmine red

Meyco sealing wax (art. no. 34916) is intended for decorative wax seals on invitations, gifts and certificates. The set contains two sticks with a wick: one in dark red and one in carmine red, each 11 g and approx. 1 × 1 × 9 cm. You can change colours to suit the occasion or combine both shades.

The wax is flexible and soft. According to Meyco, this makes it suitable for sending by post, so a seal on an envelope is less likely to break off.

Making a wax seal

Wax seals are easy to make. Place the letter, card or certificate on a fireproof surface, light the wick and hold the stick so that the liquid wax drips onto the desired spot. Put out the flame as soon as enough wax has landed on the paper, then press your seal stamp evenly into the still-soft wax. Lift the stamp off only when the wax begins to set. It is best to practise first on a scrap of paper, so that you get the right amount of wax for the seal.
