AMI Hardwood Modelling Callipers – Transferring Measurements When Modelling

With the AMI hardwood modelling callipers, you transfer proportions from a model to your own work. The legs are 29.5 cm long. Thanks to their curve, you can also place the callipers on uneven surfaces.

The callipers are adjustable and can be locked with a wing screw. A span you have once taken is therefore kept while you transfer it, which helps when you need the same distance in several places.

Transferring measurements

The callipers take distances from an original and pass them on to your work.

• Place the two tips on two measuring points of the model.
• Lock the span with the wing screw.
• Place the callipers at the corresponding spot on your piece and compare the distances.

For larger distances

With a leg length of 29.5 cm, you can also take larger spans. The curve of the legs helps when the measuring points lie on rounded or uneven surfaces.
