Wooden Cube Box with Lid 12 × 12 × 12 cm, Unfinished Wood

Wooden cube box with lid to decorate and store things in

The wooden cube box is a blank made of untreated wood with a removable lid, ready for painting, staining, decoupage and glazing. It measures 12 × 12 × 12 cm. You can turn it into a jewellery box, a gift box, a decorative box or a small storage box for craft bits and pieces.

Because the wood is raw, you can decorate the box however you like, for example with acrylic paint, decoupage or Décopatch. The lid closes the box, and as a gift box it is easy to personalise.

Decorating the box

Before decorating, sand the raw surface lightly with fine sandpaper and wipe off the dust. This helps the wood take paint, stain or glue more evenly. Apply paint and glaze thinly on the rim of the lid and the edge of the box, so that the lid still fits well once dry.

• Painting: with acrylic paint, opaque or thinned for translucent effects
• Staining or glazing: the wood grain stays visible
• Covering: with decoupage, Décopatch paper or fabric
