Efco naturally bleached straw stalks for straw stars, 30 cm, 50 pcs

Efco natural bleached straw stalks – natural material for straw stars and straw angels

Efco straw stalks (art. no. 1033206) are naturally bleached stalks for making straw stars, straw angels and other Christmas decorations. The pack contains 50 stalks, each approx. 30 cm long. At this length you can lay larger stars without having to join stalks. You can use the straw as it is or dye it.

If you want to flatten or split the stalks, a straw splitter will help. It slits the stalk lengthways so that you can open it out into a ribbon. For stars that are exactly the same, you will also need a laying template.

Working with straw

Straw breaks and splinters when worked dry. Soak the stalks briefly in lukewarm water before crafting until they are supple, and dab them lightly dry before you continue.

• Soak the stalks and dab lightly dry
• Slit lengthways with the straw splitter and smooth flat
• Lay into stars or angels and secure with thread
• Leave to dry completely before hanging

What the 30 cm stalks are suited to

The stalks are suitable for straw stars in various sizes, for straw angels and for window or Christmas tree decorations. If you would like coloured accents, dye some of the stalks and combine them with the natural ones.
