Artemio plastic bone folder – for crisp folds in paper and card

The Artemio plastic bone folder is a 150 mm long tool for preparing paper and card along the fold line so that it does not crack when folded. It presses a groove into the material, giving a clean fold edge. You can use it for cards, scrapbooking, origami or bookbinding.

Although it is also called a scoring knife, the tool has no blade and does not cut. At 150 mm long and approx. 22 mm wide, it sits comfortably in the hand, and at approx. 14 g it is light.

How to fold cleanly

Place a ruler along the fold line you want and draw the bone folder along it with even pressure, so that a groove forms in the paper. Then fold the sheet along this groove and smooth the edge with the flat side of the bone folder. Scoring is especially worthwhile with thick card, because the fibres along the fold are relaxed and the surface does not break open. Do not press too hard, or the paper will be pushed through or damaged.
