BeaverCraft wrap tape – elastic finger protection for wood carving
The cut-resistant wrap tape from BeaverCraft is an elastic, self-adhesive protective tape for fingers and hands when wood carving with carving knives, chisels and other sharp tools. It fits snugly around the finger, protects fingers and nails, and can be removed again without leaving adhesive residue.
Because the tape is elastic, your fingers stay flexible and you keep the feel for tool and wood. It is no substitute for safe working habits, though: cut-resistant does not mean cut-proof.
Applying the tape
Wrap the tape around the fingers that sit close to the blade while you carve, for example the thumb and index finger of your holding hand. Apply it with light tension and a slight overlap. Do not wrap too tightly, so that your fingers are not constricted and stay flexible. Because the tape sticks to itself, you do not need any additional adhesive. After carving, simply peel it off again.
- Always carve away from your body and away from your holding hand
- Replace damaged tape before the next use
