The da Vinci series 707 pinstriping brush in size 8 is a pointed, extra-long brush for pinstriping, lettering and fine decorative lines. The Kazan squirrel hair is soft and holds plenty of paint, so you can pull long lines without reloading in between.

The visible hair length is 55 mm and the width is approx. 2.6 mm. The handle is extra short, so you hold the brush close to the ferrule and keep good control of the tip. It is made in the da Vinci brush workshop in Nuremberg.

Pulling long lines

Wash the hairs out before first use. Then load the brush with free-flowing paint, for example pinstripe enamel such as 1Shot or House of Kolor. The long tuft of hair stores plenty of paint, so you can pull a line in one stroke without stopping. Set down the tip and guide the brush quickly and evenly from the arm rather than the wrist. This gives smoother lines. On vehicles, paper and signs you can paint decorative strokes, swirls and lettering.

Choosing size 8

At approx. 2.6 mm wide, size 8 pulls fine to medium lines. This is a common width for lettering, calligraphy and pinstripe patterns. If you need wider lines, choose a larger number in the series. Store the brush with the protective cap on so that the long hairs keep their point.
