AMSTERDAM Expert acrylic paint by Royal Talens is a heavy-bodied artist's acrylic paint in a 75 ml tube, for painting with a brush and palette knife. According to the manufacturer, the Expert Series is designed for viscosity, pigmentation and lightfastness to meet the demands of serious painters. Choose your colour from the options.

The binder is 100 % acrylic resin. The paint film stays durable and flexible and dries with an even, soft, silky sheen. Thanks to the heavy-bodied consistency, brushstrokes and palette knife textures remain visible, so you can shape texture and paint application as you wish. The paint is water-based and odourless, and is waterproof and permanent once dry.

Working with the paint

You can use the paint straight from the tube for thick brushstrokes or textures made with the palette knife. For more transparent layers, thin it with a little water or acrylic painting medium. It adheres to slightly porous surfaces such as canvas, paper, card, wood, stone and concrete.

Application tips

Acrylic paint dries quickly, and dried residue is very hard to remove. Keep the amounts on the palette small and rinse your brushes with water during painting and straight after. Paint thinned with a lot of water loses binding strength. If you want to paint in a very fluid way, use an acrylic painting medium instead.
