Viva Decor Maya Gold metallic effect paint, 45 ml

Viva Decor Maya Gold – water-based metallic effect paint

Viva Decor Maya Gold is a liquid, highly pigmented, water-based metallic effect paint for shimmering metallic surfaces in craft and decorating projects. According to the manufacturer, it contains a very high proportion of real metal pigments and dries to a satin finish with an intense metallic sheen. Choose your colour from the options.

The paint goes a long way and suits absorbent and non-absorbent surfaces. It dries quickly and is impact-resistant, wipe-resistant and weatherproof. The jar can be resealed, so you can keep leftovers for your next project.

Applying Maya Gold

Maya Gold gives the best coverage in two coats. The first coat is deliberately kept thin, while the second gives the opaque, intense effect.

• Stir the paint well before use, as the metal pigments settle in the jar.
• Apply the first coat thinly and evenly over the surface.
• Allow the paint to dry completely.
• Apply the second coat, brushing or dabbing it on for full coverage.

Smooth surface or texture

With a flat brush you spread the paint evenly and get a smooth, shimmering metallic surface. If you dab it on instead, for example with a sponge dabber, you get a textured finish with its own effect. A soft flat brush suits smooth surfaces, as it leaves fewer brush marks. If you want to create textured surfaces, try the effect first on an offcut of the same material.
