Efco half-drilled wooden beads – untreated beech wood to paint and decorate

Efco half-drilled wooden beads are blanks made from untreated beech wood for crafts and DIY projects. They are suitable for figures and for angel and doll heads, and can be painted, glued and decorated.

The beads come in several sizes. Choose the size and quantity from the options. The larger the bead, the fewer pieces the pack contains.

Working with the blanks

The hole does not go all the way through the bead but ends in the wood. You can glue a suitable wooden stick or toothpick into it and hold the bead by it while painting. Smooth any rough areas with fine sandpaper before painting. Because the beech wood is untreated, it absorbs paint; two thin coats of acrylic paint usually give a more even finish than one thick coat.

Which size to choose

Small beads suit details such as noses, heads of small figures or pendants. Use larger beads for angel and doll heads. Choose the size to match the body of your figure, as the number of pieces per pack falls as the diameter increases.
