Faber-Castell Clutch Pencil Leads Ø 3.15 mm – break-resistant replacement leads for TK clutch pencils

Faber-Castell clutch pencil leads with a diameter of 3.15 mm are replacement leads for the TK 9400, TK 9500 and TK 4600 clutch pencils. They are 130 mm long, deep black and break-resistant, and according to Faber-Castell they glide exceptionally well. The lines are easy to erase and the leads are suitable for diazo copying. They can be used for sketches, lettering and technical drawings.

One tin contains 10 leads of a single grade. The 3.15 mm lead is available in grades 4B, 5B and 6B. Choose the grade from the options.

Which grade should you choose?

All grades in the 3.15 mm diameter fall in the soft B range. The higher the number, the softer and darker the lead. This suits bold lines, hatching and sketches with plenty of depth. Soft leads wear down faster and smudge more easily, so re-point them with a lead pointer if you need finer lines.

Check before you buy

According to Faber-Castell, the leads fit the TK 9400, TK 9500 and TK 4600 clutch pencils. Before buying, check that your pencil takes a lead with a diameter of 3.15 mm. Thinner 2 mm leads do not fit pencils made for 3.15 mm.
