Caran d'Ache 849 COLORMAT-X Line Mechanical Pencil, Orange, 0.7 mm HB

Caran d'Ache 849 COLORMAT-X Mechanical Pencil in Orange – 0.7 mm Lead with Eraser

The Caran d'Ache 849 COLORMAT-X Line mechanical pencil in orange is designed for notes, sketches and everyday writing. It has a hexagonal aluminium barrel with a satin, micro-blasted finish and, according to the manufacturer, is developed and made in Switzerland.

The pencil is fitted with a 0.7 mm HB graphite lead. It is refillable and a little more break-resistant than thinner leads, which helps when you write with more pressure. Under the push button there is an eraser, and beneath it a compartment for spare leads with a diameter of 0.7 mm. This way you always have an eraser and spare leads with you.

Who the 849 suits

The hexagonal barrel sits comfortably in the hand and does not roll off the table. The metal clip keeps it attached to a notebook, shirt pocket or document folder. Orange belongs to the COLORMAT-X Line, which Caran d'Ache offers in several colours with the same features. According to the manufacturer, the pencils can also be engraved, for example as a gift.

Changing and refilling the lead

For refills, use leads with a diameter of 0.7 mm. Thinner 0.5 mm leads do not fit this pencil and may jam or break in the mechanism.
