Faber-Castell Fibreglass Eraser Twist Pen – erasing ink on tracing paper
The Faber-Castell twist pen with fibreglass eraser (art. no. 180300) is an eraser pen with a glass fibre tip. You can use it to erase ink on tracing paper and to remove small patches of rust, for example on a car or around the home. The tip is round, so you can work precisely on a single line or a mark. According to the manufacturer, the eraser is made PVC-free.
The glass fibres work like fine sandpaper. That is why you can also use the pen for cleaning, polishing and roughening surfaces. A twist at the end of the barrel extends the eraser continuously, and the fibre tip can be replaced.
Erasing with the fibreglass pen
Extend the fibre tip with the twist mechanism only as far as you need it. Work with light pressure and go over the spot several times rather than rubbing hard. The glass fibres abrade finely, and too much pressure can damage the surface of tracing paper or parchment paper. Remove the eraser debris after erasing, before you draw again. Treat small rust spots in the same way: several light passes are better than one hard one.
Replacing the fibre tip
Once the tip is used up, replace it. For this there is the Faber-Castell 180600 replacement refill, available in packs of 20. It is intended for the 180300 twist pen, so you do not have to replace the whole pen.
