Pitt Artist Pen Warm Grey IV – 4 ink pens with four nibs

The Faber-Castell Warm Grey IV set contains four Pitt Artist Pens with pigmented drawing ink in the same shade of grey. You can use them for sketches, layouts, fashion drawings and illustrations, as well as contours and outlines in comic and manga drawings. The pens differ only in the nib: S (0.3 mm), F (0.5 mm), M (0.7 mm) and B (brush nib).

According to Faber-Castell, the ink is waterproof and permanent, odourless, acid-free and pH-neutral. It is highly lightfast, which matters for drawings that will be kept for a long time or displayed. It does not bleed through the paper, so you can use thinner paper on both sides.

Which nib for what?

The different line widths in the set let you build depth into a drawing in a single shade of grey. Because the ink is permanent, lines cannot be erased. Sketch lightly in pencil first.

• F (0.5 mm): medium-width lines and contours
• M (0.7 mm): bolder outlines and edges
• B (brush nib): variable line width, soft curves and broader areas of work

Tips for use

Let the ink dry completely before erasing or drawing over it, otherwise it will smudge. As it is waterproof, you can paint over it with watercolours once dry without the lines running. Use the brush nib with light pressure so that it keeps its shape.
