Clover small double-ended stitch holder – for holding live stitches

The Clover small double-ended stitch holder (art. no. 351) holds stitches that you will pick up again later, for example at a neckline, on sleeves or at shoulder seams. The holder has a point at each end, so it can be knitted off from either side. Push-on stoppers stop the stitches from slipping off. They are joined to each other by elastic plastic bands. The stitch holder is intended for needle sizes from 2.75 to 4.5 mm.

Putting stitches on hold

Take one end cap of the elastic band off the double-pointed needle, slide the stitches onto the needle and put the cap back on. The stitches stay secure until you continue knitting them. One side of the needle is then free again, and you can knit the stitches off later from either point. The stoppers sit at the end of the needle, so slide the stitches fully onto the needle before putting them on.

Choosing the size

The small version suits fine to medium-weight yarns worked with needle sizes of 2.75 to 4.5 mm. For thicker needles, Clover offers a larger stitch holder, 16.5 cm long, for 3.75 to 8.0 mm.
