Webbing 20 mm – water-repellent for dog leads, collars and halters

You can sew this 20 mm wide, 2.6 mm thick webbing into dog leads, collars, halters or horse bridles. It is water-repellent, bacteria-resistant and has a distinctive pattern on both sides, so it looks the same from the front and back. It is sturdier than ordinary polypropylene, abrasion-resistant and keeps its shape, and it does not stretch under load.

Working with the webbing

Cut the tape to the length you need and secure the ends against fraying, for example by hemming them or enclosing them in fittings. Stitch several times with strong thread at points that take strain, such as the hand loop, clip and rings. The fittings must match the tape width of 20 mm exactly so that they do not slip. The tape is 2.6 mm thick, so use a suitably strong needle and sew slowly.

Choosing the width

This webbing is also available in the series in 16 mm and 25 mm widths. Narrower tapes look lighter, wider ones are sturdier. Choose the width to suit the size and weight of your animal and the fittings you want to use.
