Lang Yarns Quattro – smooth cotton yarn for knitting and crochet

Lang Yarns Quattro is a plain-coloured cotton yarn made from 100% mercerised and gassed cotton, for summer clothes, accessories and home decor. Choose your colour from the options.

Mercerising gives cotton more sheen and depth of colour, while gassing singes off the surface fibres so the yarn is smoother and less fluffy. You notice this most in stitch patterns that should look crisp. The yarn holds its shape well, which matters for items that need to keep their form, such as tops, bags or baskets.

Uses for Quattro

The smooth surface makes Quattro a good choice for knitting and crochet projects where the stitch definition should show. Typical projects are light summer tops and jumpers, shawls, bags, headbands and home accessories. Cotton is less elastic than wool, so do not work too loosely, or the fabric will stretch out of shape.

Quantity and tension

Each ball weighs 50 g and has approx. 120 m. Use the yardage to work out how much your pattern needs. Buy all the balls at once and, if possible, from the same dye lot to avoid differences in colour. With 3–4 mm needles, you knit 24 stitches and 32 rows over 10 × 10 cm. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. When crocheting, try out the right hook size on a swatch.
