Go Handmade Round Black Plastic Safety Eyes – for Dolls, Amigurumi and Teddies

You use Go Handmade's round black plastic eyes to give faces to rag dolls, amigurumi figures and teddy bears. They are secured from the back with a plastic washer, so they sit firmly in the fabric or crochet work.

The eyes suit knitted, crocheted or sewn figures and soft toys. Choose the size from the options. Small eyes suit dainty figures, while larger ones give teddies and dolls more expression.

Fitting the eyes

Before stuffing the figure, mark the position of the eyes with pins and check how they look. Even a slightly larger or smaller gap changes the expression noticeably. Place both eyes at the same height and at the same distance from the nose.

• Push the shank of the eye through the fabric from the front, or between the stitches.
• Press the plastic washer onto the shank from the back until it sits firmly.
• Only stuff the figure afterwards, so the eyes can no longer shift.

Good to know

Once pressed on, the washer is very hard to remove. So only fit the eyes once the position is right. On crocheted figures, they sit best between two stitches where the work is not too loose.
