Rayher 6-needle felting needle holder – for dry felting large areas

The Rayher felting needle holder (art. no. 5362400, also known as a felting handle) is made of beechwood and holds up to six felting needles at once. With six needles you can work larger areas much faster than with a single needle.

According to Rayher, coarse (5362000), medium (5362100) and fine (5362200) felting needles fit the holder. The needles are not included; choose the gauge to suit your project.

Inserting the needles

According to Rayher, you secure the needles in the fixing wedge and then push the wedge into the handle. Insert all the needles to the same depth so that they enter the wool evenly and no single needle works deeper than the others.

Which needles for which job?

Coarse needles felt the wool quickly and are suited to shaping larger areas. Medium and fine needles smooth the surface. For small details and fine contours, a single needle is usually better, because the holder with six needles covers a wider area.
