With these crimping pliers you squeeze crimp beads together when making jewellery, securing jewellery wire or thread at a clasp or loop. The notches in the tip hold the crimp bead in shape as you press, so it is flattened evenly and under control without being damaged. The pliers are suitable for crimp beads from 2.0 to 5.0 mm.

How to crimp a bead

Thread the crimp bead onto the jewellery wire, pass the wire through the loop of the clasp and then back through the crimp bead. Place the bead in the notch at the tip of the pliers and squeeze the handles firmly together. It is important that the crimp bead matches the wire thickness: if it is too large, it will not hold the wire securely. After crimping, pull gently on the wire to check that the connection holds. You can then trim the protruding wire end with side cutters.
