With the Décopatch Reindeer Mini Kit you decorate a papier-mâché reindeer figure yourself: you cover it with colourful Décopatch paper and end up with a decorative figure that stands on a windowsill or shelf at Christmas. According to the manufacturer, the kit is also suitable as a Christmas gift.

The pack contains everything you need to get started: the figure (13.5 × 3.5 × 11.6 cm), 2 sheets of paper measuring 30 × 40 cm, 1 brush and 1 pot of glue. You do not need to buy any other materials. The kit is a good introduction to the Décopatch technique, as the figure is small and easy to manage.

How to cover the reindeer

Décopatch paper is applied in small pieces. Here is how it works:

• Tear or cut the paper into pieces of approx. 2 × 2 cm.
• Use the brush to apply glue to one part of the figure.
• Place a piece of paper on the glued area.
• Coat the piece with a second layer of glue.
• Carry on piece by piece until the whole figure is covered.

Tips for a neat finish

Small pieces of paper follow curves and narrow areas such as the legs or antlers better than large ones. Let the pieces overlap slightly at the edges so that no papier-mâché shows through. Two sheets are plenty for the small figure. If you combine several colours and patterns, sort the pieces of paper by colour beforehand so you can plan the design more precisely.

Safety note

The kit contains small parts and, according to the warning, is not suitable for children under 3 years. The manufacturer recommends it for ages 5 and over. Keep away from small children.
