This bristle brush set contains 80 brushes for acrylic, tempera and watercolour paint: each size from 1 to 10 comes with four round and four flat brushes. You get all the usual sizes, from fine detail to larger areas, in one pack.

The natural bristles and lacquered handles are intended for use in art lessons, in groups and on craft projects. Because every size is included several times, several people can work with the same size at once, or you can keep a separate brush ready for each colour. The brushes are 19.5–23 cm long and 4–17 mm wide.

Round or flat: which brush for what?

Use the round brushes for lines, dots and details, thin or bold depending on the pressure. The flat brushes cover areas faster and make straight edges or broad strokes. As a rule of thumb, use the small sizes for fine work and the large sizes for backgrounds and larger areas. Bristle brushes are firmer than hair brushes and keep their shape, so they suit opaque application of acrylic or tempera paint.

Care and use in a group

Rinse the brushes out with water straight after painting, especially with acrylic paint: dried paint sticks the bristles together and can hardly be removed. Lay the brushes flat to dry rather than leaving them standing bristles-down in a water jar, so that they keep their shape. For classes or courses, you can assign particular colours or places to the brushes, which keeps the colours clean.
