Faber-Castell Colour Grip 24 Watercolour Pencils Set

Faber-Castell Colour Grip set of 24 – water-soluble colouring pencils with grip zone

The Faber-Castell Colour Grip set of 24 (art. no. 112424) contains 24 water-soluble colouring pencils for drawing, colouring in and soft watercolour effects. The pencils have an ergonomic triangular shape with a patented grip zone. It guides the fingers into the correct pencil hold and gives a secure grip. Faber-Castell recommends the Colour Grip pencils for older children, and they can be used by right- and left-handed users.

The leads are especially break-resistant thanks to a special bonding process. That helps if a pencil falls out of a pencil case or school bag. According to Faber-Castell, colour stains can be washed out of most textiles. Each pencil has a name field, so nothing gets mixed up in the classroom or group. According to the manufacturer, the lacquer is water-based, and the wood comes from FSC-certified forestry.

Using the water-soluble feature

You can draw with Colour Grip pencils just as with ordinary colouring pencils and then let the colour blend with water. This creates watercolour effects without needing a paintbox.

• Lay down an area of colour with the pencil. The more pressure you apply, the stronger the shade.
• Stroke over the colour with a damp brush. The lines dissolve and blend softly.
• Let it dry well before going over it with another shade.
• Water makes paper wrinkle. Thick drawing or watercolour paper copes with this better than thin copier paper.

Choosing the right set

The set of 24 offers plenty of colours for gradients and mixing, without needing every shade. If you would like to try them out first, Colour Grip colouring pencils are also available in sets of 6 and 12. The set of 10 also includes an eraser, and the set of 36 has even more colours. According to Faber-Castell, single pencils are available in 56 colours.
