Schmincke AQUA DROP Opaque White is a liquid opaque white for watercolour painting. You can use it neat with a brush or dip pen for opaque white accents, or mix it with AQUA DROP colours to lighten them and make them more opaque. The bottle contains 30 ml and is made in Germany.

Using Opaque White

Applied neat, the white is opaque and suits highlights, glints or fine details over paint that has already dried. Mixed with AQUA DROP colours, it lightens tones and increases their opacity. You control how strong the effect is through the amount you add. It is best to test the mixture on a scrap of paper before using it in your picture.

What it is for – and what it is not

Opaque White is a watercolour aid for when you need opaque accents. It is not intended for drawing fine lines with the AQUA DROP LINER: according to Schmincke, it is not suitable for this, either neat or in mixtures.
