Botz Liquid Glaze 9101 White – opaque and glossy, ready to use

Botz liquid glaze 9101 White is a ready-to-use ceramic glaze that gives an opaque white, glossy finish. You can brush it on straight from the container, dip the piece or pour it over. The glaze is opaque and plain-coloured, and is suitable for functional ceramics, decorative pieces and your own work.

The firing range is 1020–1060 °C. So you do not need a high-temperature kiln, as you fire in the earthenware range.

Applying the glaze

Stir the glaze thoroughly before each use so that any settled particles are mixed back in. Apply it evenly to the bisque-fired, dust-free piece. When brushing, work in even strokes; for larger or closed shapes, dipping and pouring give a more even coat. Applying it too thickly can make it run during firing, so leave the foot of the piece free of glaze to stop it sticking to the kiln shelf. Fire at 1020–1060 °C, following the firing schedule of your kiln.

Which size to choose

9101 White is available in 200 ml and 800 ml. The small tub is enough for trying it out and for individual pieces; choose the larger quantity for many pieces or large surfaces. If you would like to see the colour of your clay body, the transparent, glossy glaze 9102 is the alternative to choose.
