Botz 9493 Puderrosa Liquid Glaze – matt glaze in soft pink

Botz 9493 Puderrosa liquid glaze is a matt glaze for earthenware in a very soft pink. It gives an even surface that is pleasant to the touch. The glaze is stable in the firing range of 1020–1060 °C, but you can also fire it up to 1100 °C.

Puderrosa is one of the opaque matt glazes from Botz. You can mix it with other opaque matt glazes to create your own shades: 9107, 9108, 9489 to 9494 and 9612. If you are planning a mixture, do a test firing first on a test tile made from your own clay. Make a note of the mixing ratio so that you can repeat the shade later.

Application

The glaze is applied to ceramics that have been bisque-fired at a minimum of 950 °C. Stir it well before application to bring the settled particles back into suspension. If it is too thick, you can thin it with a little water if needed.

• Stir the glaze well and thin with water if needed
• Apply to the bisque-fired ceramics with a brush
• Leave to dry thoroughly
• Apply a further coat if needed

Firing and colour effect

Puderrosa is stable in the firing range of 1020–1060 °C, and you can go up to 1100 °C if needed. As the shade is very soft, it looks best on a light clay body. A test tile made from your own clay will show you beforehand how the pink turns out for you. The matt surface shows unevenness in the application more than a glossy glaze does, so it is worth working evenly and letting each coat dry thoroughly.
