Round basket base Ø 200 mm – drilled base for your basket

The round basket base is a drilled base made of laser-cut birch plywood with a diameter of 200 mm. It serves as the base for hand-woven baskets, coasters and decorative projects. It has 31 holes of approx. 3.3 mm diameter, into which you insert the upright stakes of your basket. At approx. 3 mm thick, the plywood gives the basket a stable footing.

The holes are already drilled, so you do not have to drill them yourself or mark out the spacing. This means the stakes sit evenly spaced around the base.

Weaving on the base

Insert a stake into each of the 31 holes. It should be no thicker than the approx. 3.3 mm hole, so that it can be inserted but still fits snugly. A little glue in the holes helps hold the stakes in place. Because the number of holes is odd, you can work with a single weaver, going in front of and behind the stakes alternately without a break. The pattern then shifts by itself from round to round. Bend the stakes upwards and weave round after round until the basket reaches the height you want.
