Efco straw splitter, 6-way, 1 piece

Efco 6-way straw splitter – splitting straws into six strips

With the Efco 6-way straw splitter, you split straws lengthways into six strips of equal width. You need the strips for straw stars and other Christmas decorations made from straw. You pull the straw through the opening and the built-in blade divides it as it passes.

With six strips per straw, the individual pieces are narrow and suit delicate stars. The splitter saves you cutting by hand and gives an even width.

How to split straw

Take a single straw and guide it straight to the opening of the splitter. Pull it through steadily and without twisting, so that the blade divides it cleanly lengthways. Hold the tool so that your fingers are not in front of the blade. You can then lay the strips into stars or use them for other straw decorations.

6-way or 4-way?

How wide the strips turn out depends on the number of divisions and on the straw: thicker straws give wider strips than thin ones. The 6-way splitter gives narrower strips than the 4-way splitter, which divides the straw into only four wider pieces. For fine stars and delicate patterns, the 6-way splitter is the better choice; for sturdier strips, the 4-way version is more suitable.
