Botz 9561 Rosa liquid glaze – glossy pastel pink for earthenware

Botz 9561 Rosa liquid glaze is a glossy, opaque glaze in a bright pastel pink with slight streaks. You brush it onto bisque-fired ceramics to get an even-coloured, smooth, glossy surface with a lively colour effect.

The firing range is 1020–1060 °C, and the glaze stays stable within this range. It can also be fired up to 1100 °C, so it suits earthenware in the 1020–1100 °C range. Botz liquid glazes come in many other colours; check the effect and firing range of each colour individually.

Application

The glaze is liquid and ready to brush on. Stir it thoroughly before use, as the colour pigments settle at the bottom. If needed, it can be thinned with a little water.

• Bisque-fire the ceramics first, at 950 °C minimum
• Apply the glaze with a brush
• Leave to dry thoroughly
• If needed, apply a further coat

Firing and result

Fire within the range of 1020–1060 °C, where the glaze is stable. The streaks are part of the character of this pink, so it does not look completely even. The colour effect also depends on the thickness of the layer. A test piece on your own clay shows you in advance how the pink turns out. Leave the foot free of glaze so that the piece does not stick to the kiln shelf during firing.
