The Rayher polystyrene owl is a white blank, 22 cm tall, that you can paint, cover and decorate. According to Rayher, you can decorate it with all-purpose or craft paint, with embroidered sequins, with rhinestones and fabric, or by needle felting with wool.

The smooth surface takes paint evenly. The owl is a single blank, so you can turn it into a decorative figure to suit your own ideas, for example as seasonal decoration.

Decorating the owl

Water-based craft or acrylic paint works well on polystyrene. Solvent-based paints, sprays and glues can dissolve polystyrene, so test them first on an inconspicuous spot. To cover the owl with fabric or rhinestones, use a glue suitable for polystyrene. For needle felting, lay thin layers of wool on the surface and push the felting needle straight into it until the wool holds. When embroidering with sequins, fix them in place with sequin pins or pins.
