Atelier Zitron Trekking Color XXL – 4-ply sock yarn with colour gradients

Trekking Color XXL from Atelier Zitron is a 4-ply sock yarn with colour gradients, for socks, shawls and light accessories. It is made of 75% virgin wool and 25% polyamide. The polyamide content makes knitted socks more hard-wearing, and the yarn is machine washable. It is certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, product class 1. Choose your colour from the options.

Each ball weighs 100 g and has a length of approx. 420 m. Use this figure to plan the quantity needed for your project: compare it with the length given in your pattern.

Uses for Trekking Color XXL

The colour gradients of the yarn form stripes or patterns on their own as you knit. That makes it a good choice for socks in stocking stitch or with simple textures, where the colour change takes centre stage. With 2–3 mm needles you knit socks in the usual weight for everyday shoes. The yarn is also suitable for shawls, accessories and light knitting projects.

Knitting

Knit with a set of double-pointed needles or a short circular needle in the size given in your pattern. If you want two socks with the same colour gradient, start both socks at the same point in the gradient, cutting off the beginning of the yarn if necessary. Buy the whole quantity in one go if possible, so that the dye lot matches. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide.
