The Artemio clay extruder is a clay gun that presses clay or modelling clay into even strands and profiles. The 21-piece set includes 19 design discs. You can use them to make vines, stems, borders and letters, as well as hair, grass, straw or brick patterns.

Because you choose the shape with the disc, one tool gives you many different strand shapes. That is handy when you are working on figures, miniatures or jewellery and need the same details again and again.

Which disc for which job?

The discs are sorted by shape, so you can quickly find the right one:

• Round discs: for vines, stems, borders and letters
• Umbrella discs: for hair, grass, straw and flower stamens
• Square, triangular and semicircular discs: for bricks, blocks and borders

Working with the clay extruder

First knead the clay until soft and shape it into a roll that fits into the barrel. Insert the disc you want, load the clay and press it out slowly and evenly so the strand does not break. You can cut the square, triangular and semicircular strands into small pieces and use them as beads. Clean the extruder and discs straight after use, before leftovers dry on and block the fine openings.
