Mayco Jungle Gems CG-962 Blue Azure is a ready-to-use liquid glaze with a crystal effect for decorative ceramics such as vases, bowls and other decorative objects. The glaze contains crystalline particles that spread during firing and form individual patterns. The jar contains 118 ml.

The glaze is not dinnerware safe and not suitable for food contact (Not Dinnerware Safe); it is for decorative purposes only. It carries the ACMI AP (Approved Product) seal; according to ACMI, this means: non-hazardous (no labelling required). The warnings below still apply.

Applying the glaze

The glaze is ready to use. Because the crystals settle at the bottom, shake and stir it thoroughly before each use. Apply it to bisque-fired ceramics.

• Bisque fire beforehand at cone 04 (approx. 1063 °C, guide value per Orton chart)
• Apply 2–3 even coats with a fan brush
• Allow to dry between coats
• For the third coat, redistribute the crystals if needed so that the coverage is even
• Do not place crystals near the base, as they may run during firing

Firing and colour effect

Fire the glaze at cone 06 (approx. 998 °C, guide value per Orton chart) to cone 05 (approx. 1031 °C, guide value per Orton chart). At higher temperatures the colours become paler, so stay within this range. Because of the way the crystals flow, leave the foot of the piece unglazed.
