The Mayco Stroke & Coat Sampler Set 1 contains 12 glaze colours in 59 ml bottles. It lets you get to know the Stroke & Coat glazes without buying large containers straight away. The glazes are highly opaque and can be used for fine details as well as for covering larger areas. The surface turns glossy after firing, so you do not need an additional clear glaze.

Colours included

The set contains twelve shades, from light white through yellow, orange, red, pink, violet and blue to green and brown. This gives you a wide colour palette for patterns and designs:

Firing and application

The glazes are intended for earthenware and stoneware and are suitable for a firing range from cone 06 to cone 10. The colour pictures show the result at 1050 °C – at higher temperatures the colours change. If a particular shade matters to you, first fire a test piece on your own clay with your own firing programme. Apply the glaze evenly in several coats to bisque-fired ware and let each coat dry before applying the next. Leave the foot of the piece free of glaze so that nothing sticks to the kiln shelf.

Who is the set for?

With 59 ml per colour, the quantity is enough for testing and for smaller pieces such as cups, bowls or figures. If you particularly like a colour, Stroke & Coat is available as single colours in larger containers, for example 236 ml. Sets 2 and 3 each contain different colour selections.
