Metal multi-rod bead firing stand – glaze-fire beads and pendants hanging

The metal multi-rod firing stand is a kiln aid for glaze firing: you thread beads, pendants and other small ceramic pieces onto the rods and fire them hanging freely. The pieces do not rest on any surface, so there are no glaze flaws caused by contact points. The stand is designed for firings up to 1250 °C; how much load it can take depends on the weight of the ceramic.

The set comprises one stand, five round rods of Ø 2 mm and one round rod of Ø 3 mm. Which rod you use depends on the hole diameter of your beads. This lets you fire several pieces in a single firing.

Firing beads on the stand

Slide the glazed beads onto the rods so that they hang freely and do not touch each other. Wipe any glaze from the edge of the hole beforehand so that the bead does not stick to the rod. Ceramic shrinks during firing, so the hole in your beads should be slightly larger than the rod.
