YKK 30 cm Zip – Closed-End with Fine Polyester Coil

The YKK CFC-36 zip in 30 cm is a closed-end coil zip for skirts, dresses, trousers, cushion covers and other sewing projects. The fine polyester coil stays flexible and light, so it sits discreetly in the seam. The standard slider is sturdy enough for regular use.

Closed-end means the zip has a fixed bottom end. You insert it where the opening stays closed at the bottom, for example in a side seam or on a cushion. For jackets that need to open completely, you need an open-ended zip. Choose your colour from the options.

Inserting it neatly

Pin or tack the zip in place before sewing so the fabric does not shift. Sew with a zip foot, which runs close to the coil. With stretchy or thin fabrics, iron-on interfacing in the seam allowance stabilises the seam. Iron only on a low heat and not directly on the plastic coil.
