Botz Unidekor 4018 Lachs – universal decorating colour for ceramics and porcelain

Botz Unidekor 4018 Lachs is a liquid, glossy and opaque salmon decorating colour for ceramics and porcelain. You can use it as an underglaze, onglaze or in-glaze colour and fire it within the firing range of 1000–1250 °C. According to Botz, the colour stays stable within this range. This makes it versatile for painting, decoration and relief work.

The 30 ml is enough for smaller projects or for testing. As the colours can be mixed with one another, you can vary the salmon shade with other Unidekor colours.

Using Unidekor

The technique determines how you cover the colour. For underglaze work, apply a thin coat of Botz 9106 glaze over the decoration. For the "glaze+paint" in-glaze technique, apply the colour to the unfired glaze. Matt Botz glazes are particularly suitable for this, for example the 9108, 9107, 9487–9491 and 9612 series. A test piece shows you beforehand how the salmon shade looks with your clay body and your glaze.

Mixing, thinning, spraying

The Unidekor colours can be mixed with one another. Mixing with Botz 4009 Weiß gives lighter pastel shades. Undiluted, the colour is suitable for airbrush work. Thinned, it can be marbled on a dampened or glaze-fired surface, that is, a glazed and fired clay body.
