Botz Unidekor 4013 Flieder – opaque universal ceramic colour in purple

Botz Unidekor 4013 Flieder is a liquid universal ceramic colour in an opaque, glossy purple. You can use it as an underglaze, overglaze or in-glaze colour, for example in underglaze techniques, porcelain painting, majolica technique and relief technique. The firing range of 1,000–1,250 °C gives you plenty of freedom when choosing your firing temperature.

Before firing, Flieder looks matt and less intense. The full colour intensity only appears after firing, so allow for this when choosing your colour. The Unidekor colours can be mixed with one another: mixed with Botz 4009 Weiß they give light pastel shades, that is, soft lilac tones.

Using Unidekor

The method depends on the technique:

• Underglaze: Botz recommends covering the colour with a thin coat of Botz 9106. Once dry, you can also apply a clear glaze over it with a soft brush.
• In-glaze ("glaze+paint"): apply Unidekor to the dry, unfired glaze. Matt Botz glazes such as 9108, 9107, 9487–9491 and 9612 are suitable; 9102 is not suitable. Fire according to the firing range of the base glaze.
• Airbrush: undiluted, the colour can also be applied with an airbrush.
• Marbling: slightly diluted, you can marble on damp or fired clay or on bisque-fired ware.

Non-hazardous and choosing within the range

According to Botz, Unidekor is exempt from hazard labelling, which means it is lead-free and contains no hazardous substances in concentrations requiring labelling. Flieder belongs to the Unidekor range, which includes other shades such as 4011 Basaltgrau, 4012 Capriblau and 4015 Farngrün. All of them can be mixed with one another, so you can also create your own shades.
